About Frosty Hollow Hardwoods

Nestled in the rolling landscape of Armstrong County, not far from the Kiskiminetas River, Frosty Hollow Hardwoods was started in 1975 by James Knell and his son, Richard, as a way to supplement their steel mill incomes. Its presence as a viable source for quality, custom-made wood products was firmly established in 1988 when Rich’s son Jeff came to the business on a full-time basis. Frosty Hollow has grown through the years from that single-mill operation to two sawmills, several dry kilns, and a complete secondary processing operation. Our emphasis on vertically integrating our production has not only provided us with the flexibility to customize products to our customers’ special requests, but also to eliminate those middle-man margins and pass those savings along to our customers.
